< The healing concert for joy and excitement. > The 2014 Gyeongju World Traditional Wind Instruments Festival, based on the mythology of <Manpasikjeok> which prayed for Silla's wellbeing and peace, was held for 3 days from June 20, 2014 to June 22, 2014 at Gyeongju Art Center, in Gyeongju, traditional city of culture and arts which was home of Eumseongseo, the origin of Korean music as the first institute of music. This was its 4th anniversary since 2011.

This festival attracted many local citizens and tourists as a healing concert. The opening performance presented the music and dance of multinational musicians beyond tradition, modernity, and nationality and excited all of the audiences who filled all 1,300 seats of the grand concert hall.

The World's Masters of Wind Instruments presented the performances of masters from six invited countries (Korea, Belgium, China, Japan, Laos, and Thailand) along with the interpretational videos to attract the enthusiasts, while the exhibition hall offered an exhibition of about 230 musical instruments from 30 countries with various exhibition programs to attract many children and parents.

The forum was about seeing, listening to, and experiencing the wind instruments with the masters from 6 countries and the topic was ‘the structures and characteristics of the world's wind instruments’. The National Daegeum Competition to nurture the youth celebrated the 11th anniversary. It is Korea's one and only competition that discovers the rising performers who major in Daegeum and invites the students to compete for evaluation.

The Gyeongju World Traditional Wind Instruments Festival “Manpasikjeok” has solidified its ground as a global music festival with the brand name of Manpasikjeok.
