Gyeongju City is the host of the series, and the Gyeongju Culture Foundation will conduct the shows. The grand opening will be held on the 29th at 7:30pm.
The concerts and performances will run until the end of October and will be held from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. In June and September, they will be held every Saturday and Sunday. In May, July, August and October, they will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The shows will feature a wide variety of performances. These include fan dances, drum dances, medicine dances, mask dances, traditional dance performances, pansori (traditional Korean narrative songs), samulnori (traditional percussion quartets), gayageum (Korean harp), daegeum (bamboo flute), other traditional instruments, original creations, gukak (Korean classical music), B-boys, and other various performances.
Around ten music companies, art companies and dance troupes will participate in the series. Participation by local organizations is being encouraged, and local groups will perform classical dances, traditional operas, and orchestral music. Moreover, just as Gyeongju is both an ancient and modern city, many of the music and dance performances will combine traditional and modern art styles.
