The Foundation of Gyeongju Culture is launching and starting its full scale operation of an integrated social media brand <The Festival of A Thousand Years' Zest and Taste> that will thoroughly cover the major festivals of Gyeongju.

To keep pace with the fast developing new media environment, it is committing itself to a vigorous communication with tourists.

Its official blog (http://blog.naver.com/gjfestival) and facebook (http://facebook.com/ festivalgj) present <The Festival of A Thousand Years' Zest and Taste> that will translate into 'Leisure, Beauty and Enjoyment'.

By using the integrated social media brand <The Festival of A Thousand Years' Zest and Taste>, the Foundation of Gyeongju Culture will inform tourists of the cultural festivals that take place in Gyeongju as well as help them with their communication and understanding.

'Online Media Center' will be at work to accommodate tourists with thorough information on the 40th Silla Cultural Festival and 2012 Gyeongju Ttheok(cake) and Sul(liquor) Festival, the two festivals that start on the 12th and 17th of October respectively.

The Foundation will run the social media as a real-time relay station for the festivals, from their preparations through their feature presentations, as well as use it as a sincere communication channel with netizens.

Apart from the needed information services for the tourists, diverse events will take place to turn them into festivals that draw tourists' participation.

The Chairman of the board, Choi Yangsik, expects this media, <The Festival of A Thousand Years' Zest and Taste>, to open up opportunities for communication and to serve as a festival reporter that will transmit news from Korea's major festivals as well as draw dynamic participations from tourists' part. He added that he wished this would be the moment of Gyeongju to become the city of world's most visited cultural festivals.
