< Formation of a Large Scale Flower Complex in the East Historic Sites: > - Flowers and various performances are to add up a glamour to historic sites.
- Cultural inspirations are sought for through seeing and hearing pleasures.

In order to attract more tourists to the East Historic Sites, the City of Gyeongju decided for the second straight year to add a little more of charm by transforming the 420,000 ㎡ of unused land around the area into luscious flower complex.

The formation of the complex will begin in March. Starting with rapes that bloom early in April, mounds, tunnels and lanes composed of lotuses, cosmoses and wild flowers, and ornamental plants like buckwheat, millet, and Indian millet will, season after season, feature in the huge complex.

The East Historic Sites have become the best photographing sites of Korea.
During last year's blooming periods of rapes and lotuses, a huge crowd of tourists visited, not to mention the photographers and telecasters, and contributed to the opening of the new era of over 11 million tourists in Gyeongju.
In addition, Korean traditional classical and contemporary music concerts that accompany the beautiful flower complex will arouse the pleasure of hearing as well as the joy of seeing in tourists and citizens and satisfy their cultural desires.
Starting from April through October, tours of music concerts will be held at 8 o'clock every Friday evening for an hour on rape flower gardens, lotus flower gardens, and Guyelim and eulalia habitats in their blooming seasons. The concerts will include Korean traditional classical music concerts and those of saxophone, guitar, trumpet, and pop singers, and extemporaneous participations by audiences. These are expected to offer tourists of Gyeongju opportunities to experience the tastes of the ancient Shilla.
